Cristina Schmidt, Trainer, Supervisor
Cristina Schmidt is a psychotherapist, sociodramatist, trainer, supervisor, coach, and international speaker. Recipient of the 2024 Zerka Moreno Award, she specializes in transgenerational psychotherapy, psychodrama, psychogenealogy, and group psychotherapy.
She serves as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Bucharest, where she teaches in the Master’s Program in Coaching in Education.
Cristina is the founder of the Institute for Transgenerational Studies and Practices (ITSP), where she currently serves as Vice-President. Through her work, she develops training programs, workshops, and educational initiatives dedicated to transgenerational psychotherapy and the study of intergenerational and transgenerational transmission processes.
Cristina currently serves on the Executive Council of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP) and is Chair of the ASGPP International Committee.
A Trainer, Educator, and Practitioner of Psychodrama, Cristina has trained psychotherapists and mental health professionals for more than two decades and has presented at numerous national and international conferences.
She also completed training in Sociodrama and Action Methods at the Sociodrama Centre Romania (2010–2011) under the guidance of Ron Wiener and Diane Adderley and received a Certificate in Sociodrama and Action Methods issued by the British Psychodrama Association (BPA).
Between 2005 and 2008, Cristina participated in annual workshops led by Zerka Moreno in Charlottesville, experiences that contributed significantly to her professional development in psychodrama and action methods.
Her current work focuses on the integration of psychodrama, sociodrama, and transgenerational psychotherapy in clinical practice, professional training, and international education.
