Rebecca Walters, MS, LMHC, TEP
Rebecca Walters, MS TEP Is Director of the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute in NY which, founded in 1989, is currently a very active psychodrama training center offering workshops, five-day intensives, advanced directing intensives and ongoing trainings. With over 30 years of inpatient experience, Rebecca was Director of Child and Adolescent Psychodrama Services at Four Winds Psychiatric Hospital in New York where she ran psychodrama groups on both inpatient and outpatient units. While at Four Winds Rebecca developed a model of using action methods to teach Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills. She was a consultant for MD Anderson Cancer Center teaching communication skills to medical personnel. Rebecca has presented at nationally and internationally on Sociodrama and Psychodrama with Children, with Adolescents and on DBT in Action. She is the author of several articles about the use of sociodrama with children and in using sociodrama to teach interpersonal skills. Rebecca has been a member of the ASGPP since 1977 and is a Fellow. She received the ASGPP’s 2005 Collaborator’s Award, 2010 Hannah Wiener Award for Service to the ASGPP and was the 2028 recipient of the JL Moreno Award for Lifetime Achievement. This is her third term on the council.
